A Red Hat Case Study

Preview of the Credit Information Bureau India Limited (CIBIL) Case Study

Combined solutions help credit information company gain mission-critical reliability availability and serviceability

Credit Information Bureau India Limited (CIBIL), India’s largest credit bureau, needed a cost-efficient, stable, scalable, and high-performance virtualization platform to support its rapidly growing, mission-critical credit bureau applications. With more than 100 physical servers and new business demands increasing pressure on the datacenter, CIBIL turned to Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization and Red Hat Enterprise Linux to improve agility and reduce infrastructure costs.

Red Hat implemented a phased virtualization rollout, starting with UAT and less-critical workloads before moving core credit bureau applications onto the platform. With Red Hat, CIBIL reduced eight physical servers, avoided purchasing 26 new ones, cut the time to build a production platform from nearly two months to less than 48 hours, and achieved an estimated ROI of about 12.5 million while improving performance, manageability, and scalability.
