CenturyLink, a telecommunications and cloud technology company, needed to reduce the operational cycle time for deploying applications, cut the time and cost of environmental setup and operations, and move from proprietary application servers to open source solutions. The company worked with Red Hat, using products and services including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat JBoss Middleware, Red Hat Consulting, and Red Hat Training.

Red Hat helped CenturyLink migrate from Oracle WebLogic Server to Red Hat JBoss Middleware and build deeper expertise in open source technologies. The result was greater flexibility at a lower cost, better separation of operations from application deployment, fewer application server versions to manage, and improved access to newer technologies and support.
