A Red Hat Case Study
Caja De Valores, Argentina’s securities depository and trading organization, needed to move away from expensive, restrictive proprietary mainframes and UNIX systems that limited innovation, drove up costs, and made staffing and upgrades difficult. The company looked to Red Hat Enterprise Linux and related Red Hat services to build a more flexible, open source infrastructure.
Red Hat implemented a phased migration to Red Hat Enterprise Linux, supported by Red Hat Consulting and Red Hat Training, moving ERP, application servers, databases, and finally the mainframe platform over several years. The result was about a 50% improvement in processing time, double the processing capacity, and a 60% reduction in investment costs, with the overall project on track for full ROI within five years.
