Booz Allen Hamilton helps DoD reply faster to congressional requests

Booz Allen Hamilton helped the Department of Defense modernize an aging, inflexible infrastructure that relied on more than 120 end-of-life Oracle SPARC servers and over 80 legacy applications. The legacy environment struggled to scale during workload spikes and was costly to manage, so the agency turned to Booz Allen Hamilton and Red Hat for a more agile private cloud approach.

Using Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, and Red Hat JBoss Middleware, Booz Allen Hamilton built a virtualized private cloud with automated elasticity, self-service provisioning, and better monitoring. With Red Hat, the DoD saved $5.1 million through fiscal year 2015, reduced development time by an estimated 3.5 weeks, and improved responsiveness for more than 70 web-based applications serving over 80,000 users worldwide.
