Basispoort, a Dutch education initiative serving more than 1.5 million students, needed a secure and simpler way to manage access to digital learning content from multiple publishers. Its original in-house single sign-on environment based on Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform was costly to run, hard to scale, and time-consuming to maintain, especially during peak morning login traffic.

Basispoort migrated its platform to Microsoft Azure and implemented Red Hat JBoss Core Services Collection with Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform. With Red Hat, the organization created a secure, scalable SSO solution, cut operational costs by up to 50%, and improved compliance and security while supporting peak loads of about 220,000 simultaneous logins.
