A Red Hat Case Study
The University of Technology in Sydney was facing IT bottlenecks in student application setup, virtual machine provisioning, and managing legacy websites and data. It needed a single platform that could support students, researchers, and faculty while reducing manual configuration and improving security and compliance, so it turned to Red Hat and OpenShift Enterprise.
Red Hat implemented a 10-month pilot of OpenShift Enterprise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat Consulting, enabling self-service, automation, and secure compartmentalization of applications. The result was faster provisioning, less administrative burden, and lower infrastructure waste and costs; the pilot was successful enough to move into production, and it helped IT staff focus on higher-value work while supporting 175 students and other users reliably.
