Atos Helps UK Government Communicate Better and Improve Services

Atos, a digital services company, was engaged by the UK government to solve a long-standing data-sharing problem: departments were relying on phone calls, printouts, and faxes to move sensitive information, making communication slow, costly, and error-prone. Atos used Red Hat technology, including Red Hat JBoss Fuse, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Red Hat Satellite, to build Canopy Digital Connect, a secure cloud-based messaging service for government agencies.

With support from Red Hat Consulting, Training, and Certification, Atos launched the solution and began adding live government customers within a year. The Red Hat solution enabled information sharing in near real time, reduced capital and operating costs through a pay-per-use model, and improved security and reliability; Atos also grew its Red Hat expertise to 535 certified professionals.
