Aecom Reduces Project Information Delivery Time with Red Hat Integration Solutions

AECOM, a global engineering and construction services firm, needed to streamline a highly complex bidding process that relied on more than 1,300 spreadsheets and could take up to 125 days to complete. To support its Construction Integrated Services initiative, AECOM turned to Red Hat JBoss Middleware, including Red Hat JBoss Fuse and Red Hat JBoss A-MQ, to integrate multiple systems and eliminate manual data re-entry.

Red Hat and its partner Middleware360 implemented an automated, integrated bidding solution that connected four systems and enabled near real-time data flow across bid, scheduling, cost management, and accounting functions. The results were significant: bid creation time dropped from 125 days to fewer than 20 days, and AECOM later integrated 15 additional systems and more than 50 business services, creating a stronger competitive advantage and better use of existing applications.
