Red Canary Helps a Leading Foundation Safeguard Sensitive Information

United States Largest Private Foundations, a high‑profile nonprofit targeted because of its work on sensitive global issues, faced advanced, highly targeted attacks that threatened employee safety and donor data. To strengthen its defenses the Foundation adopted Red Canary’s Managed Endpoint Detection and Response (MEDR) and VMware Carbon Black Response to provide continuous endpoint monitoring, behavioral detection, and rapid global response.

Red Canary deployed MEDR on top of Carbon Black, pairing market‑leading endpoint visibility with 24/7 analyst-driven detection and response; its team and Technical Account Managers worked alongside the Foundation to stop multiple attacks, including a targeted PDF/macro campaign against the Foundation’s Indian office that was contained before it could persist into the weekend. Measured over a typical 30‑day period, Red Canary detected 3 confirmed threats that bypassed existing protections across 406 endpoints, reviewed 926 potentially threatening events, and analyzed 48.8 million processes and binaries — materially improving detection speed and preventing breaches.
