Nando's Loyalty Programme doubles registrations with Red Badger

Nando's, a restaurant chain, faced challenges with its popular loyalty program which relied on physical plastic cards. These cards were often lost or forgotten, creating customer frustration, stalling registration rates, and generating significant operational costs for replacement. Nando's partnered with the vendor Red Badger to redesign the experience for a mobile-first world and meet its sustainability goals by eliminating plastic.

Red Badger designed and built the UK's first NFC-enabled mobile wallet loyalty card for Apple and Google Wallet. This solution allowed customers to simply tap their phone at the till, creating a seamless experience. The results for Nando's were significant: over 300,000 customers added the card in three months, program registrations doubled, and the company saved on annual plastic card production costs while increasing loyalty participation to 66%.
