BMW recreates 5,000 sqm museum in 3D with Red Badger

BMW wanted its Munich museum, a living building housing around 125 cars and motorcycles, to extend its brand's passion for technical innovation to its web presence. The challenge was to digitally recreate the 5,000 square metre exhibition space and its iconic Karl Schwanzer architecture. Red Badger was engaged to discover how to achieve this.

Red Badger used HTML5 technology and custom sound design to build a multi-platform 3D virtual tour of the museum, paired with companion apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android. This created a joined-up visitor journey from the web to the physical museum itself. The solution provided BMW with greater insight into its museum's contents and experience, encouraging more visitors to one of Munich's most popular highlights.
