VALTRIS wanted to increase circularity and support workers with automation

VALTRIS, a sorting center in Belgium processing 50,000 tonnes of waste annually, faced the challenge of recyclable materials, particularly PET bottles, remaining in its residual waste stream. This hindered material circularity and placed significant pressure on manual sorters during high-volume periods. VALTRIS partnered with Recycleye to find an automated solution.

The solution from Recycleye was the installation of an AI-powered robot on the residual line. This robot was able to identify and pick 1,600 recyclable items per hour with a 92% purity rate, operating 24/7 with 98% availability. The implementation by Recycleye successfully increased the recovery of valuable materials, improved circularity, and provided crucial support to the human workforce during busy periods.
