How JYSK uses video interviewing to build an agile retail recruitment process

JYSK, a global home-furnishing retailer with 2,800 stores, 23,000 employees and operations in 52 countries, faced slow, high-effort screening where CVs hid candidates’ attitudes and led to wasted face-to-face interviews and high turnover for sales roles. To speed hiring and better assess attitude and communication, JYSK Finland began using video interviews from Recright.

Recright’s solution — short, standardized video questions (3–4 prompts, ~1-minute replies), manager training and global rollout with integration into SmartRecruiters — let JYSK screen faster, increase transparency, reduce bias and weed out wrong-fit candidates before in-person interviews. The platform enabled mobile applications for the majority of applicants, scaled across multiple countries (turning early skeptics into ambassadors), and materially reduced time spent on screening while improving the quality of shortlisted candidates.
