National Archives of Australia - Customer Case Study

The National Archives of Australia supported the Australian Human Rights Commission, a small federal government agency, as it struggled with duplicate records, tangled folders, lost documents, and a manual records management process that was time-consuming and hard to sustain. The commission needed a more effective EDRMS and wanted to move away from staff-driven classification toward a simpler, automated approach.

RecordPoint implemented Records365 on SharePoint Online as part of the RADICAL project, using AI and machine learning to classify records automatically with minimal user input. The solution improved transparency, compliance, search and retrieval, collaboration, and disposal of low-value records, while reducing storage costs and FOI response time. The commission reported at least a 5% productivity gain and said RecordPoint’s automation already exceeded the accuracy of manual classification, with a traditional EDRMS estimated to cost 3 to 4 times more.
