Large Card Issuing Company, a major U.S. card issuer, used Recorded Future to help identify which compromised cards were at highest risk for fraud. Before using the platform, the company struggled to determine when stolen cards were being sold on the dark web, which made it harder to balance fraud prevention with customer experience.

With Recorded Future Payment Fraud Intelligence, the issuer could detect card data sold across more than 70 dark web shops and forums and act quickly by blocking fraudulent transactions, locking accounts, or reissuing cards when needed. The company reported a significant measurable impact on the amount of fraud it was able to prevent and said it also improved customer experience by reducing disruption from fraudulent charges.
