A ReconArt Case Study
The University of Auckland, New Zealand’s largest university, faced a decentralized finance function that generated over 2,500 individual monthly balance-sheet reconciliations handled manually in Excel, resulting in poor visibility, control weaknesses, high printing/storage costs and slow month‑end/quarterly processes. After evaluating options, the University selected ReconArt and its cloud Total Reconciliation Lifecycle solution (ReconArt.net) to address these issues.
ReconArt implemented an automated, cloud-based reconciliation workflow with preparer/reviewer routing, automated date-stamping and auto-certification of zero‑balance accounts; the system is now used across campuses by about 80 users. As a result, the University has seen massive reductions in reconciliation cycle time (previously taking about nine working days with 70–80 staff), improved visibility and GAAP compliance, fewer printing/storage costs, and more staff time for value‑added work — and is expanding use of ReconArt’s matching functionality toward full lifecycle automation.
