Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - Customer Case Study

Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which serves a catchment of around 450,000 people across three hospitals, sought to make its website content barrier-free for staff, patients and visitors of all abilities. To meet this need the Trust engaged Recite Me and its web accessibility/assistive technology to provide on-site support for users with disabilities and varying language needs.

Recite Me’s web accessibility software was installed on the Trust’s website, giving users customizable support — including a screen reader, styling options, reading tools and a translation tool with over 100 languages and 35 text-to-speech voices. Since going live in April 2019, Recite Me has improved access to key information for people with sight loss, mobility or cognitive impairments, been popular with users and enabled the Trust to offer enlarge, translate or read-aloud functionality across its site for its ~450,000 catchment.
