Torridge District Council - Customer Case Study

Torridge District Council, which serves around 67,000 residents in north‑west Devon, operates a refreshed website with over 10,000 users per month and needed to make its online services accessible to the widest possible audience as part of its Transforming Torridge programme. To meet this challenge the council engaged Recite Me to provide an accessibility and language toolbar.

Recite Me’s toolbar was added to every page (clearly labelled "Read and Hear – better accessibility") and provides text‑to‑speech, adjustable fonts and colours, reading supports and translation into over 100 languages. The solution helps people with disabilities, learning difficulties and non‑English speakers access online services, supports the site’s 10,000+ monthly users, and provides a practical way for Torridge District Council to reduce exclusion and improve digital service uptake.
