Case Study: Leeds Playhouse achieves inclusive online accessibility and easier ticket booking with Recite Me

A Recite Me Case Study

Preview of the Leeds Playhouse Case Study

Leeds Playhouse - Customer Case Study

Leeds Playhouse, one of the UK’s largest producing theatres outside London, faced the challenge of making its online ticketing and information accessible to the roughly 12% of its audience who identify as having a disability and to patrons seeking tailored performances (Relaxed, Dementia‑Friendly, hard of hearing/visually impaired). To address this during its broader £15 million redevelopment, Leeds Playhouse partnered with Recite Me to improve web accessibility.

Recite Me’s toolbar was implemented site‑wide, adding audio description, text styling, reading tools and multi‑language translation so visitors can more easily find and book shows from phone or laptop. The Recite Me solution immediately made the website more accessible to disabled patrons, helping the theatre reach and serve its audience more inclusively and enabling everyone to learn about and purchase tickets for specially created accessible performances.
