British Gas Energy Trust - Customer Case Study

British Gas Energy Trust, an independent charity focused on relieving fuel poverty in the UK, needed its new website to better support people in vulnerable circumstances — including those with disabilities, learning difficulties, visual impairments or who speak English as a second language. To meet this challenge the Trust partnered with Recite Me to provide accessibility and language support on its site.

Recite Me implemented an inclusive toolbar offering screen reading/audio, styling controls, reading aids and real-time translation (over 100 languages with 35 text‑to‑speech voices). As a result, Recite Me enabled barrier-free access to the Trust’s online application forms and content, helping users with visual impairments, dyslexia, colour blindness, neurodiversity and non‑native English speakers to apply and access support more easily.
