A Recite Me Case Study
Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, an acute teaching hospital operating across Royal Sussex County Hospital and the Princess Royal Hospital, serves a diverse population across Brighton & Hove, Mid Sussex and western East Sussex. To ensure staff, patients and visitors—including people with disabilities, learning difficulties or who speak English as a second language—could access vital health information online without barriers, the Trust engaged Recite Me to provide website accessibility and language support.
Recite Me implemented its accessibility assistive toolbar on the Trust’s website, offering a screen reader, styling and reading support, and translation into over 100 languages with 35 text‑to‑speech voices. The toolbar has massively improved how users read and access contact and appointment information, enabled people who previously struggled to use the site to engage with healthcare content, and become a popular asset with patients, according to Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust.
