Herkimer Central School District, which serves about 1,200 K–12 students in Herkimer, NY, needed a simple iPad check-in solution to handle constantly busy front desks. Technology Coordinator Ryan Orilio wanted kiosks that would automatically print late passes, free up administrative time and space, and provide an accurate, filterable record of who was in the building — needs met by The Receptionist’s product, The Receptionist for iPad.
The Receptionist implemented The Receptionist for iPad at both schools, providing customizable badges and printed passes (different formats for students, parents, and other visitors) plus a visitor log that can be filtered by student name and managed across multiple locations. As a result, staff gained time back, the principal can see who’s in the building at any time, visitors compliment the system, and HCSD plans to expand to three or four more entrances and add visitor notifications — all delivered by The Receptionist.
