A The Receptionist Case Study
Denver Public Schools’ Emily Griffith Campus, the district’s administration hub and home to three schools, was handling 500–800 visitors a day and struggling with unescorted guests and long waits while staff tracked down hosts. In 2016 Jason Klika from the DPS Department of Safety identified the need for a visitor management system and chose The Receptionist’s solution, The Receptionist for iPad, because it fit DPS’s security and high-volume check-in needs.
The Receptionist deployed four iPad kiosks that let visitors self check in, send automatic email notifications to hosts, and handle group arrivals, cutting down wandering and speeding lobby throughput (staff report clearing 30 people faster each morning). The Receptionist also eased ID and fingerprint scheduling for up to 10,000 hires per year and proved far more cost-effective than alternatives that would have added $10,000–$45,000 annually, delivering measurable improvements in security, efficiency, and user satisfaction.
