Case Study: mySupermarket achieves zero daily attacks and converts scrapers into revenue with Reblaze

A Reblaze Case Study

Preview of the mySupermarket Case Study

How To Convert Web Security From An Expense Into a Revenue Stream

mySupermarket, an international online grocery and comparison marketplace with millions of users, was under constant attack from hackers and sophisticated data-scraping bots that conventional WAF/IPS tools couldn’t reliably stop—generating 10–30 daily security alerts and risking theft of its competitive pricing data. After testing options, the company engaged Reblaze and its cloud-based web application & API security platform to protect its sites.

Reblaze was deployed quickly (just a DNS change) and placed a private cloud shield in front of mySupermarket’s assets to block malicious traffic, accelerate legitimate visitors via CDN, and distinguish humans from bots. As a result, daily attacks dropped from 10–30 to zero, up to 60% of non-buying visitors were identified as scrapers and blocked, and mySupermarket even began converting former scrapers into paying data customers—turning security into a revenue stream.
