KOKU, a developer of health apps, faced the challenge of turning years of clinical research on falls prevention into an accessible and engaging digital tool with global appeal for older adults. They partnered with Reason Digital to create an app that would overcome the clinical and uninspiring nature of most existing exercise programs.

Reason Digital implemented a solution using co-design with older adults and clinicians, alongside gamification to transform evidence-based exercises into interactive mini-games. The result was an NHS-approved app that achieved an ORCHA score of 84%, the highest for older adult wellbeing apps. It has been rolled out internationally, with clinical trials showing improved user balance after just four weeks.
