The University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science needed a way to monitor and fix research equipment on vessels and remote stations spread across the world without sending staff onboard. With RealVNC, researchers could diagnose and repair issues from their laboratories at any time, enabling real-time monitoring and maintenance across ships and remote sites. The result was reduced equipment downtime, less travel and disruption, and more time spent collecting samples, with the school reporting that it could increase the amount of time sampling.
