A RealVNC Case Study
The Alexandria Police Department’s Tactical Computer Section needed a better way for its small IT team to support 330 mobile computers used by officers in the field. With downtime threatening access to mission-critical applications, APD wanted to avoid radioing back to headquarters or pulling officers off patrol for repairs, and turned to RealVNC remote access software, specifically VNC Connect, Enterprise subscription.
RealVNC implemented its remote access software across APD’s fleet and a few hot-swap units, enabling secure, reliable remote troubleshooting in real time. The result was reduced downtime, faster issue resolution, improved officer confidence, and better support for officers staying in the community; the rollout expanded to about 400 remote computers and was described as delivering excellent return on investment.
