A Realtrac Performance ERP Case Study
East Side Machine, a Webster, NY precision job shop founded in 1984, provides CNC turning, milling and other machining services to industries such as mass transit, medical and aerospace. As the shop grew (reaching over 30 employees), its manual job and accounting processes—which were already strained when the company had 18 workers—couldn’t keep up with the need to track jobs, manage deliveries and produce accurate shop costing without risking quality or on-time delivery.
East Side implemented Realtrac for real-time job tracking, purchasing and inventory control and QuickBooks for accounting because the two systems integrated smoothly and were easy to use. The solutions were implemented quickly and delivered immediate benefits: faster order processing, real-time job status and costing, better prediction of machine bottlenecks, more efficient purchasing, support for ISO 9000 documentation, and integrated invoicing that eliminated duplicate entries—improving accounts receivable control, reporting and overall efficiency and profitability.
