Sony Electronics Inc., the U.S. sales and marketing arm of Sony’s global electronics business, wanted a way to communicate product features more effectively, personalize email content, and drive customers to purchase without sending them away from the message. It also needed a way to showcase video and product innovations inside email in a timely, engaging format.
Working with RealTime Email, Sony Electronics Inc. used embedded video and countdown timers across three campaigns: a 4K Pre-Sale Email, a Monthly Fan Favorites Email, and a Winback Email with Countdown Timer. The 4K Pre-Sale campaign increased click-through rates by more than 300%, the Fan Favorites email boosted click-through rate by 430%, and preliminary results from the win-back campaign were very positive, leading Sony to expand its use of real-time content in email.
