The Agency for Digitisation in Denmark needed a secure way to launch a digital driving license that citizens could use as both a valid license and an ID. To enable this, it worked with ReadID and its mobile identity verification technology as part of the new Kørekort-appen.

ReadID helped power the app by enabling users to scan their passport and retrieve a verified face image from the passport chip, alongside verification through NemID. The result was a major early success, with more than 737,000 verified identities and app downloads in less than two weeks, showing strong demand for a digital alternative to the physical driving license.
