Scion, the Toyota brand aimed at younger, style-conscious drivers, needed to reach customers online and prove that digital marketing could drive measurable dealership traffic and sales. To do that, Scion partnered with ReachLocal and its automotive digital marketing services, using Google AdWords and targeted online campaigns across a pilot group of seven Northern California dealerships.

ReachLocal built highly targeted paid search, display, and mobile campaigns that focused on the right local audiences, helping Scion increase visibility and generate leads. The four-month pilot produced 28,000+ clickthroughs, 1,100+ phone calls, 715 form leads, and over 4 million impressions, while participating dealers saw sales rise 17% year over year and one store grow 134%; Scion also increased its digital marketing budget from 10% to 80%.
