Case Study: FOX Sports achieves fully remote, automated 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup postproduction with Reach Engine (Levels Beyond)

A Reach Engine Case Study

Preview of the Fox Sports Case Study

FOX Sports 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup Postproduction Team Worked At Home

FOX Sports faced the challenge of producing realtime postproduction for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Paris while keeping craft editors and production largely at its Pico/LA facility instead of building edit suites and relocating staff to the Paris IBC. The network needed to ingest, process, sub-clip, archive and deliver growing high‑res match files quickly and reliably so producers and editors across the U.S. could create promos, highlights and features as matches unfolded.

FOX Sports implemented an integrated, automated Live @ Home workflow built by Telestream, Levels Beyond and IBM Aspera — using Lightspeed Live Capture, Vantage and Telestream Cloud for ingest/transcoding, Reach Engine for orchestration and Aspera FASP/FASPStream for near‑real‑time transfer and archive to AWS S3. The solution supported dozens of simultaneous streams, reduced Paris equipment by ~30%, enabled edits and sub‑clips within seconds to minutes, automated archiving at match end, avoided on‑site edit bays and staff relocation, and drove 2.5× more video assets (1,300+ additional items) with lower cost and operational risk.
