A RDC Case Study
Liverpool John Lennon Airport faced the challenge of competing with approximately 200 other major European airports for the attention of a limited number of airlines. To secure new routes, the airport needed to build compelling business cases for airlines by proving route profitability, but lacked access to the necessary independent data. To address this, the airport turned to vendor RDC and its Apex data platform.
RDC provided the airport with comprehensive network-wide fare, yield, and profit data through its Apex platform. This solution enabled Liverpool Airport to analyze its own and its competitors' route performance, shortlist new opportunities, and directly target new airlines. As a result of using RDC's data, the airport successfully added over 30 scheduled flights and attracted new airlines over a three-year period, which directly contributed to significant passenger growth and increases in both revenue and profit.
