City of New Orleans revitalizes a 54-acre Lafitte Greenway with RCLCO

The City of New Orleans faced the challenge of revitalizing neighborhoods and driving economic development along the Lafitte Corridor in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. While construction of the Lafitte Greenway trail was funded, the city needed a strategy for the project's economic impact and a solution for its long-term maintenance and operation. They retained RCLCO Real Estate Consulting to address these challenges.

RCLCO conducted a detailed analysis of economic and real estate trends to recommend strategies for economic development. The vendor helped devise a unique plan that integrated economic revitalization and funding solutions into the creation of public spaces. The resulting plan was approved by the City of New Orleans and the project was expected to revitalize area neighborhoods. The team's work was recognized with an Award of Excellence from the American Society of Landscape Architects.
