METRO AG, an international wholesale company, faced the challenge of gaining complete transparency over its decentralized IT infrastructure across 34 countries. Their hardware and software data was gathered manually from disparate systems, requiring validation to produce the high-quality information needed for effective IT Asset Management (ITAM).

The vendor Raynet implemented its Raynet One Technology Asset Inventory solution to automate the discovery and inventory process. This provided METRO with complete transparency, enabling the creation of over 60 custom reports and establishing compliance for their top three software suppliers. As a result, METRO can now identify unused licenses, optimize its portfolio, and perform holistic risk assessments across all its locations.
