A Raynet Case Study
BWI Informationstechnik GmbH, tasked with modernizing the German Armed Forces' IT, faced the immense challenge of migrating 140,000 workstations to Windows 7 and updating hundreds of applications. The scale and complexity of this "Herculean task," combined with a decades-old, heterogeneous software landscape, made efficient application management and guaranteed error-free operation nearly impossible. To address this, BWI engaged vendor Raynet for its Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) expertise.
Raynet implemented its holistic ALM services, utilizing its RaySuite and RayFlow products to establish a highly efficient "packaging factory." This solution standardized the process for evaluating, packaging, and quality-assuring software for deployment. The results were significant: within three months, Raynet multiplied the output of software packages, achieved a major reduction in costs, and eliminated bottlenecks. This provided BWI with the planning reliability and 100% quality assurance needed to meet its ambitious deployment schedule for the Bundeswehr.
