New Balance Utilizes Customized Raymond Very Narrow Aisle Trucks

New Balance, a Boston-based athletic shoe maker processing 26 million pairs annually across 860,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space, needed to maximize throughput and operator productivity while keeping staff levels steady. For lift truck equipment and service they selected The Raymond Corporation for its ergonomic, high-performance trucks and strong dealer support to meet the demanding pick-and-pack requirements.

The Raymond Corporation, working through its dealers, supplied a tailored fleet—8 counterbalanced trucks, 6 wire-guided Swing-Reach® trucks, 11 pallet trucks and 26 wire-guided orderpickers—and deployed its intelliguide™ wire guidance (plus aisle-end magnets) to boost narrow-aisle efficiency. The result: about 3,000 picks daily (45–50 picks/hour), doubled output since 1995 without increasing staff, extended battery runtime for full-shift operation, reduced downtime and lower repair costs, backed by Raymond’s CFPM service program.
