Zap Group, one of only two Yellow Pages franchises to go completely digital and serving 18 million visits per month, was struggling with deteriorating site performance, slow queries from a custom search stack (MS SQL Server and ApproxiMATCH), high operational cost, too many servers and failure points, and degraded mobile SEO. To address these issues they adopted RavenDB, a NoSQL document database, to replace their legacy search and data platform.

RavenDB’s multi‑master replication, built‑in caching, Studio monitoring, and easy scaling let Zap Group simplify architecture and reclaim performance. After migrating to RavenDB, average page load time fell from 0.7s to 0.3s, average query time dropped to ~10 ms, they now serve at least 300 queries/sec per server, doubled the data shown per page, cut server count in half (to two), and saw traffic rise ~25%—all while reducing TCO and speeding developer time‑to‑market.
