A Rave Mobile Safety Case Study
The University of South Carolina faced the ongoing challenge of protecting students, faculty, staff and visitors across its large Columbia campus and ensuring fast, reliable emergency response and reporting. To bolster campus safety and communications, the university adopted Rave Mobile Safety’s Rave Guardian app and safety web resources to give the community tools for real‑time alerts, confidential tips and direct links to campus police.
Rave Mobile Safety deployed Rave Guardian in 2015 to more than 40,000 students, faculty and staff, enabling panic calls that send caller profiles and GPS coordinates to USC Police, a Safety Timer with guardian notifications, and anonymous two‑way tip texting. Those capabilities helped the university improve incident awareness and response—and contributed to USC being ranked the sixth safest campus in the U.S. and the safest in South Carolina in a survey of 6,284 colleges.
