A Rave Mobile Safety Case Study
Springfield, MA faced a growing challenge: an outdated, landline‑based 9-1-1 infrastructure made it difficult and time-consuming to pinpoint mobile callers — sometimes taking 10–15 minutes to rebid a location — a problem magnified by increased visitors from the city’s new casino and widespread Uber use. To address this, Springfield partnered with Rave Mobile Safety and deployed Rave 911 Suite™ to improve mobile caller location accuracy.
Rave Mobile Safety implemented RapidSOS integration within Rave 911 Suite™, enabling call takers to receive fast, supplemental device location from Uber, iPhone (iOS 12) and Android devices — including vehicle make, model and license plate info for Uber trips — at rates faster than traditional ALI feeds (RapidSOS provides this data at no cost to Rave 911 Suite users). As a result, Springfield became the first in Massachusetts to partner with RapidSOS, Uber and Rave, giving call takers faster, more accurate locations and the ability to address emergencies more quickly and efficiently.
