Rio Rancho Public Schools Enhance Emergency Drills and Safety Initiatives Through Rave

Rio Rancho Public Schools, a 21‑school district serving about 18,000 students and roughly 2,500 staff, needed a way to strengthen emergency drills, speed 9‑1‑1 notification and improve situational awareness during incidents. To close those gaps, the district partnered with Rave Mobile Safety and began deploying the Rave Panic Button mobile app districtwide so staff could instantly alert 9‑1‑1 and key personnel with one click.

Rave Mobile Safety’s Panic Button was rolled out in phases, tied into ALICE training and tested during a two‑hour active‑shooter exercise with ~100 participants; the app immediately called 9‑1‑1, broadcast 3–4 follow‑up messages to staff, and supplied precise location data to dispatchers. The solution also automated drill reporting and compliance tracking, improved coordination among responders, and is being expanded to all staff as part of a statewide deployment to 866 schools, demonstrating faster notifications and better situational awareness across the district.
