Nassau County Protects 200,000 Students with Rave Panic Button

Nassau County, NY faced the challenge of rapidly detecting and responding to school shootings across 350 schools serving more than 200,000 students, where law enforcement can sometimes take over 10 minutes to arrive. To improve early warning and coordinated response, Nassau County deployed Rave Mobile Safety’s Rave Panic Button (integrated with IntraLogic Video Management Solutions) and conducted a large active-shooter simulation involving 525 students and 75 staff.

Rave Mobile Safety’s solution instantly dialed 9-1-1, alerted staff, displayed caller location and floor plans, and provided live video feeds via the Rave Command View Console so 9-1-1 and police could track the suspect in real time. The integrated system enabled faster, coordinated actions during the drill—police located and detained the assailant, all school doors locked automatically, staff received text updates, and no one was hurt—demonstrating measurable improvements in response speed and situational awareness across the county’s 350 schools.
