Improved Communication and Coordination for Campus Events at Vanderbilt University

Vanderbilt University, a private research university in Nashville, Tennessee, needed a more reliable way to share event and emergency information, improve communication between field personnel and the Emergency Operations Center, and maintain visibility into staff locations during major campus events. The university worked with Rave Mobile Safety, using AppArmor to support those needs during graduation, sporting events, and concerts.

Rave Mobile Safety’s AppArmor Command gave Vanderbilt University user-specific offline-ready event and emergency plans, secured group chat rooms, automated conference calls, internal push notifications, and event management tools for planning and tracking major events. The university was able to build event plans, assign roles, track progress in real time, and relay officer positions on a map, leading to better communication, better documentation, real-time officer tracking, and significant efficiency gains.
