Case Study: AstraZeneca achieves faster, more reliable campus-wide emergency communications with Rave Mobile Safety (Rave Alert)

A Rave Mobile Safety Case Study

Preview of the Astra Zeneca Case Study

How AstraZeneca Launched Mass Communications as a Force Multiplier

Astra Zeneca’s Gaithersburg campus — a 24/7 research and manufacturing hub with 4,000 employees — struggled with slow, paper-based call trees, overloaded command center phone lines, and lengthy alert configuration that delayed emergency response. To modernize mass communications, Astra Zeneca partnered with Rave Mobile Safety, piloting Rave Alert and later adopting Rave Collaborate and the AppArmor personal safety app to digitize call lists, enable two-way communications, and automate notifications.

Rave Mobile Safety migrated 30+ call lists into templates, ran a successful year-long pilot with 300 users, and rolled the solution campus-wide; the changes cut notification time from 12–15 minutes down to about 2 minutes, increased text response rates, reduced phone traffic in the command center, and improved incident tracking and decision-making. The vendor’s ongoing partnership and Customer Advisory Board input helped tailor features and scale the deployment across Astra Zeneca’s facilities.
