Florida’s Sumter County Enhances Community and School Safety Through the Rave Platform

Sumter County of Florida, which serves over 133,000 residents and handles roughly 57,000 9‑1‑1 calls a year (growing about 10% annually), needed to modernize its Communications Center to improve dispatcher workflows, responder coordination and community and school safety. To address this, the county partnered with Rave Mobile Safety and implemented the Rave 911 Suite along with Smart911 and the Rave Panic Button.

Rave Mobile Safety integrated Rave 911 Suite with the county’s CAD and RapidSOS to deliver caller profiles, real‑time photos and more precise mobile-device locations—improving location accuracy by about 30–40%—while Smart911 reduced dispatcher data collection and the Rave Panic Button was deployed in nearly 20 school buildings. These changes enabled faster, standardized responses, better resource allocation and more efficient information sharing for first responders.
