The City of Dubuque faced a growing emergency-response challenge: about 80% of 9‑1‑1 calls came from mobile phones that do not provide exact addresses, slowing dispatch and putting responders and residents at risk. To address this, the City implemented Smart911 from Rave Mobile Safety in 2013 to capture critical caller data and location details for mobile calls.
Rave Mobile Safety’s Smart911 supplied dispatchers with household layouts, occupant and medical information, and quick access to photos, enabling faster, more accurate responses. As a result, the City of Dubuque’s ISO fire‑protection rating improved from Class 3 to Class 2—placing it among the top 3% nationally—and the upgrade may translate into lower property and insurance costs for homeowners and businesses.
