Building a Culture of Resiliency Across Higher Education and Healthcare

Northwell Health sought to strengthen emergency preparedness across its hospitals and clinics and needed a mobile solution to centralize plans, incident reporting, and mass communications. Facing Joint Commission accreditation requirements, gaps in mass notification redundancy, and the need to improve staff access to protocols during crises (including the COVID-19 response), Northwell Health selected Rave Mobile Safety’s AppArmor to build a culture of resiliency and streamline crisis operations.

Rave Mobile Safety implemented a custom-branded AppArmor app with SSO integration, one-button emergency reporting, mobile panic button and Friend Walk features, and a centralized repository for START triage checklists, decontamination protocols, and real-time guidance. The rollout led to higher training attendance, immediate adoption across units, and faster dissemination of updates (pushed in minutes); a post-launch Culture of Safety survey reported that staff and community members felt safer on- and off-site, and the app also provided a reliable backup mass-notification channel during critical events.
