A Rave Mobile Safety Case Study
The Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Schools — a system of 48 elementary, middle and high schools serving over 13,000 students — needed a faster, centralized way to notify administrators, teachers, staff and parents about emergencies, closures and routine school communications. Previously the district relied on school-level phone trees and local news; to solve this they implemented Rave Mobile Safety’s SwiftK12 notification system (integrated with PowerSchool) in 2016.
Rave Mobile Safety’s SwiftK12 enabled about 1,500 staff to send voice, email and text messages from within PowerSchool, driving roughly 13,000 district-level messages per day plus another ~5,000 school-level parent messages daily (with some schools sending over 600 messages/month). The rollout eliminated many paper communications (“no more Monday mailers”), added PowerTeacher messaging and the PDF Builder secure document delivery module for electronic report cards and COVID-era distribution, and set the district up to expand electronic delivery and reduce paper going forward.
