App Enables Milford School Teachers to Better Communicate in Emergencies

Milford Public Schools faced the need for silent, immediate communication during school emergencies—such as an active intruder—so teachers could summon help without speaking. To address this, the district adopted Rave Mobile Safety’s mobile panic button solution (Rave Panic Button/Smart911), a smartphone app that lets authorized users trigger a one‑button 911 call and deliver critical site data while remaining silent.

Rave Mobile Safety integrated Rave Panic Button with the Milford Police Department’s 911 workflow to route calls directly to dispatch and provide en route maps, room locations, class rosters and contact details. The system enabled officers to see the nearest classroom entrance and other site details, shaving important seconds off response time, and was rolled out across seven schools for 500+ staff with automated profile-update reminders—delivering faster, more informed emergency response with minimal infrastructure cost.
