A Raritan Case Study
Miniatur Wunderland, the world’s largest model railway attraction in Hamburg, runs hundreds of moving elements—more than 800 trains, 900 signals, 2,200 track switches, 300,000 lights—and over 40 Windows and Linux computers to control them. The operations team needed a scalable, reliable way to centrally access and manage those systems and to share real‑time monitor views with visitors after their previous KVM solution reached its limits.
Raritan’s Paragon II Cat5 analog KVM with optional IP access provided centralized, non‑blocked access, high‑quality long‑distance video for a large monitor wall and simultaneous video to administrator stations. The deployment delivered real‑time visitor displays, faster and more efficient system control, space and cost savings (including reclaiming a computer cabinet), and the scalability to support future expansion.
